Application Prodecures

  • One complete written proposal should be mailed to the Foundations’ Office attention: Joshua L. Miner, Executive Director. It will be considered by the appropriate Stevens Foundation. In addition to the mailed “hard copy” of the proposal, the proposal narrative, organizational budget, and budget for the project for which you are seeking funding should be e-mailed to grantprocess@stevensfoundation.com. No personal interviews will be entertained unless requested by the trustees.
  • The Philanthropy Massachusetts Common Proposal form is accepted and welcomed by the trustees.
  • The body of the proposal should be no more than five pages plus appendices. A one-page cover letter summarizing the proposal and with a request for a specific grant amount should also be included.
  • A complete proposal shall include:

— Copy of I.R.S. Determination Letter
— Proof of Incorporation in Massachusetts
— Names of Officers, Directors or Trustees of the organization
— Most recent annual financial statement (preferably audited)
— Institutional Income and Expense budget for the current fiscal year
— Detailed program budget for which support is being requested
— Starting and completion dates of the proposed program and planned cash flow
  • If an organization’s proposal is complete and fits within the guidelines of the Stevens Foundations, the Director or other officer of that organization may be contacted to provide further details or information. Please include the name, address, and telephone number of whom you wish contacted.
  • The trustees of the Stevens Foundations generally meet monthly, with the exceptions of July and August. While awaiting a decision from The Stevens Foundations, applicants are encouraged to seek other sources of funding.
